Beer Types
In the beginning, there were only two types: Ale and Lager.
Due to the great popularity of the Stout (Thanks to some unknown person ;) named Arthur Guinness), it became a type of its own, although Porter is an older type and consider the father of the Stout. Stout grew to become its own recognized type. Today we have three main types that are considered as the root of the type tree. Each of them is a proud parent of hundreds of sub-types. The graphs below show the relationships of the common types (I cannot show them all as there are hundreds, if not more). By clicking on the type, you can see a more detailed look at this specific type.
Stout Beers
Although sub type of the Ale style, with time it earned to become its own style with unique sub styles.
